Sledding

Today we went out sledding to enjoy the six new inches of snow we woke up to and to enjoy the balmy 9 degrees before it really gets cold out. It was mostly fun. There was a little meltdown at the end.

Happy New Year!

We had a pretty low key New Year's Eve. I did make the boys wear silly hats with me though. We played some ping pong, had some treats, and Luke and I actually made it to midnight this year. We did one of those Netflix countdowns for the boys and they loved it. We are looking forward to all of the adventures 2017 will bring us.

So Much Snow!!

When we got home from Christmas we found about a foot of snow (4 wheel drive just to make it up the driveway!). That is not so fun to shovel but lots of fun to play in. The boys have been going outside all week but we usually last only a few minutes until someone's glove falls off. Today though, Daddy was there to play and it was much more fun. He even shoveled a path around the fence so Baxter could run around. (He refused to leave the deck before). Jaxon and Ryker thought throwing snowballs at Luke was the best thing ever. They also liked climbing the tree.

Christmas 2016

This year we went to Idaho to spend Christmas with Courtnie's family. It was a crazy long drive with lots of snow but we made it safely even after almost running into a moose butt! We can laugh about it now. Christmas Eve was spent eating yummy treats, playing games, decorating cookies and sledding. It was freezing cold so we didn't last long but the boys had fun. We had our traditional Christmas Eve dinner of Chinese food. Jax was super excited to leave out the cookies he decorated and milk for Santa and had to show everyone as they woke up that "Santa ate his cookies!" We had a miscommunication about the time church started so only made it to about 20 minutes but it was still nice to hear beautiful music and testimonies of Christ. I always love when Christmas is on Sunday. Jaxon had a great time opening presents and Ryker had a great time playing with the open toys. He wasn't really into opening this year. The day after Christmas we spent another long day in the car so Luke could make it back to work. It was worth it. We had a great Christmas playing with family.

Ryker's favorite person this trip was Uncle Eric. He had to show Eric all the toys he opened first.

We braved the blowing snow for about 15 minutes.
Jaxon was so proud of his cookies for Santa.
Putting out the reindeer food with Grandma.
 Santa found us!
Baxter and Eric's dog Gambit were best friends.

Jaxon loved his new stocking that Santa brought!
New hats crocheted by Ryker's birth grandmother.
Ryker's favorite presents. One of them was his.

Uncle Eric helping put some batteries in new toys.

 Our new "leather" coats.

Aunt Lindsey reading Goodnight Mr. Darcy. Much better than Goodnight Moon, but I could be biased.
