Color Run

Courtnie decided a color run was an easy item to add to her bucket list. Today we had the chance to take it off the list :). I didn't understand the reason for the water at the beginning but it made the color powder stick much better. I pushed the boys in the stroller while Courtnie ran with Baxter. We had to run a little ways before the first color booth then they were spread throughout the race. By the end we were pretty well covered. Jax got out at all the color stations so he could be colorful too. He ran the last stretch with us to cross the finish line. They did the color explosion by bringing everyone together to throw color into the air at the end. It was hard not to breathe it in but once the dust settled it was pretty cool looking. We had a great time and got some fun pics. Everyone thought the kids were cute but really got a kick out of Baxter covered in colors.
They had other activities in the park for RiverFest so we walked around all covered in color getting funny looks and comments on our kids and dog :).  It was a fun day!

The star of the show! Everyone was so entertained by our colorful Baxter.

We were pretty hot and sweaty by the end so we ran through the water a couple of times.
Jax thought it was pretty great.

Jax and Ryker did not like the color in their eyes.

So I was in charge of planning my family's reunion which Luke, Brett, and, Eric all couldn't make it to. My parents, Lindsey, the boys and I made a go of it though. Our campsite was surrounded by a creek and the boys threw rocks in the water all day long. Jaxon's second favorite activity was throwing sticks in the fire. My favorite was when he threw one with pine needles in and said, "Oooh. Christmas is burning!" Grandma and Grandpa helped us roast some "marshpillows" as Jax likes to call them. We took a hike up to the waterfall, which is always beautiful. The next night we went into town to go see the parade and the rodeo. It was so hot. Ryker and Jax got pretty mad when I wouldn't let them eat all the candy right then and there. Jaxon thought it was a fun game trying to get all the candy before Ryker. Fortunately we had some thoughtful older kids next to us that kept throwing candy in front of Ryker so he got some too. The rodeo started pretty late. Ryker was a crazy wiggle worm for most of it until he turned into zombie towards the end. Jax got a little bored so we snuck out and let him ride a couple of the carnival rides until the rodeo ended. The next morning we packed up and headed back home to Luke.  We were crazy dirty and tired but it was a fun adventure.

Ryker got a little cold and ended up in bed with Grandma. He kicked Grandpa out.

Cottonwood Bay

Another fun day at the lake. This one was a little less windy and a little more sandy. The boys appreciated the warmer water. Ryker was a little water bug. I had to take him kicking and screaming out of the water when it was time to go home. Jaxon and his new friend Jaycee had the best time digging in the sand.

This was just before Jax decided he was too sandy and took off all his clothes.
