A One Year Old

I can't believe our little guy is one. This year has flown by and I have loved watching his little personality grow. Ryker is a sweet easy going boy. He loves animal, his big brother, and Mom and Dad. We are so blessed to have him in our lives and look forward to continue watching him grow. We celebrated his birthday a day early with Grandma and Grandpa in Vegas. They bought him a piece of cake that he devoured and some legos that he loves to tear apart.

His actual birthday we spent driving home from Vegas. He did amazing but not a very fun way to spend your birthday. The next day we partied all day long. Jax sang Happy Birthday to Ryker at least 20 times. Ryker's little friend Kyla turned one the same week so we had a joint party. It was fun to have some friends over. Ryker was pretty disinterested in his cake but he had lots of fun playing with his new toys and friends. It was a great day celebrating our little man.

A Trip to Vegas

My parents had a time share certificate they had to use before the end of the year and offered to let us use it so we tagged along on their trip to Vegas. My Dad had a potato conference so we mostly played with my mom. Jax is always excited to play with Grandma and Grandpa. We were there for two days before they got there playing in the pool (hot tub. It was only 50 degrees!) and wandering around.

Jax thought the fish at the Bellagio were pretty great. He also wanted to lick the giant chocolate fountain and was pretty disappointed that the glass blocked the way.

We made tacos one night but Ryker wasn't patient enough for Luke to make up the taco. He is surprisingly quick, especially when it is food he is grabbing.

One night walking along the strip we came across Chewbaca. Don't let Jax's face fool you he was really excited and talked about it the rest of the night.
For the most part we tried to keep the spending low on this trip. Our one splurge was to take the boys and mom to the Tournament of Kings. We thought Jax would enjoy the jousting. Grandma spoiled the boys with a knight and dragon costume. While we were paying Jax and Ryker found the Batmobile.
Seriously the cutest knight and dragon ever. Jax loved the swordfighting and the dancing girls. Ryker was a pretty good sport through it all.
Luke and Jaxon fought the whole way from the arena to the car. Some where along the way Luke acquired a viking hat from a stranger so he was also in costume.
Swords are a pretty big deal in this house. Can you tell?
The aquarium at Caesar's was a favorite with both the boys. They could have spent all day there watching the fish and the stingrays.
My mom offered to watch the boys one morning so we could have a morning date. We looked up the temple schedule and headed over. Luke and I have the worst luck with temples being closed and this time was no different. Instead we decided to find something fun on the strip. We were going to go up on the Stratosphere but it was too expensive for our taste.
We ended up going on the New York New York roller coaster. It was freezing and fun and our hair was pretty awesome when we finished. It was a fun trip with my boys but after all the traveling we've done I'm good to stay home for a good long while.
