On Saturday we moved to a new house. We had been looking for a while then saw one that had only been on the market for three days and already had an offer. We liked it, put in an offer and figured we'd see what happened. I thought for sure we would get into a bidding war but they accepted our offer and we had a house. One month later here we are. Moving with kids is not fun. Slowly but surely I packed up boxes during nap time and after bed. We closed on a Thursday afternoon, moved some boxes over the next two days, then the cavalry came and helped us move the heavy stuff. The last couple of weeks Baxter started to get very concerned and would either hide in weird places or be glued to your side. Jax was wondering where his toys went. Ryker was pretty chill about it all.
As I was getting our load into the car, Jax was sticking his finger up his nose and saying "Ow" and was getting ready to cry. All the while Ryker was crying because he was hungry and I was trying to show a potential renter around the house. Like I said, moving with kids is not fun. I got the person out of the house, laid Ryker down with a bottle, then took a look at Jaxon's nose. Something large and white was stuck way up the left nostril. This is not the first time he has done this and we have always been able to get it out but not this time. Of course on the day when we were exhausted and sweaty we add a trip to the ER to round out the day.
Jax and I went to the ER while Luke and Ryker stayed home to put some stuff away. The lady at the window mistook my reason for the visit "has something stuck up his nose" to "he has a stick up his nose" so the nurse and doctor were pretty excited until they realized it was just another kid with something up his nose. The doctor had me lay Jax down on the table and hold him down while he dug out the something out of his nose. It took a couple tries but it finally came out. It was a piece Styrofoam about an inch long and an inch in diameter. As I was comforting Jaxon the doctor said "That's the biggest thing I've ever pulled from a two-year-old's nose," and scooped it up and walked out before I could even say I wanted a picture of it. It was the fastest ER visit I've ever had. Jax got some french fries for being a brave boy and Luke and I got pizza for being awesome movers.
