The boys and I joined some other Mommas for a play date at the lake. It is always nice to get out of the house. Some days I feel like we spend the whole day napping (Ryker, Jax, Ryker, then dinner time!). Jax still isn't sure he likes playing with other kids, just near them, but he enjoyed throwing rocks in the lake. I enjoyed having some grown-up conversation.

A 7 Month Old
Holy cow this kid is growing like a weed. He only holds still when he's sleeping. He scoots around all over the place, usually trying to keep up with big brother. He loves big kid food, especially bananas. He survived a move, loves big brother more than anything, and is getting his big boy hair (though still has his bald spot). We are so happy this little smiley guy is part of our family!

First Food
This big boy is so excited to eat real food! His first grown up food was a strawberry and he devoured it like a starving man.
He hasn't quite got the hang of the spoon and kept pushing all the food right out of his mouth.
His face when you don't feed him fast enough :)
Fair
The fair came to town. We took the boys to go see the animals one night. Ryker fell asleep but Jaxon loved it. His favorite were the kitties from adopt-a-pet. Someday we might really have to get this kid a kitty! He enjoyed petting the bunnies, could care less for the pigs, and couldn't decide if the sheep were scary or funny. Ryker started crying as soon as we got near the pigs. He did not appreciate the smelliness. I remember Jax doing the same thing the first time we took him to the fair.

Let's Watch the Water
We have had a hectic few days with the move. I don't know if it's because he is in different surroundings but Jaxon has decided he likes to wake up at 5am. Not fun for Momma. I had to go to the city offices to switch over our utilities. I am not a big fan of going out by myself with two kids. The car seat is heavy and Jaxon likes to wonder where he likes so I have to chase him all over the place. That day things were going well we made it to the office with no problems, Jax was being cute and saying hello to everyone and got a sucker. He wondered over to the foyer where they had some fake trees under a skylight and came back to me and said "water Mommy," and wondered off again. After I finished signing the paper I told Jax it was time to go and he came over to me and grabbed my hand and said "Mommy, I want to watch the water," and pulled me over to a bench. He sat down and we watched the water for five minutes just sitting still. This was rare thing for Jaxon and maybe he knew Mom just needed to stop and enjoy some quiet time. I enjoyed this special time with my cute kiddo.
Moving and a Trip to the ER
On Saturday we moved to a new house. We had been looking for a while then saw one that had only been on the market for three days and already had an offer. We liked it, put in an offer and figured we'd see what happened. I thought for sure we would get into a bidding war but they accepted our offer and we had a house. One month later here we are. Moving with kids is not fun. Slowly but surely I packed up boxes during nap time and after bed. We closed on a Thursday afternoon, moved some boxes over the next two days, then the cavalry came and helped us move the heavy stuff. The last couple of weeks Baxter started to get very concerned and would either hide in weird places or be glued to your side. Jax was wondering where his toys went. Ryker was pretty chill about it all.
As I was getting our load into the car, Jax was sticking his finger up his nose and saying "Ow" and was getting ready to cry. All the while Ryker was crying because he was hungry and I was trying to show a potential renter around the house. Like I said, moving with kids is not fun. I got the person out of the house, laid Ryker down with a bottle, then took a look at Jaxon's nose. Something large and white was stuck way up the left nostril. This is not the first time he has done this and we have always been able to get it out but not this time. Of course on the day when we were exhausted and sweaty we add a trip to the ER to round out the day.
Jax and I went to the ER while Luke and Ryker stayed home to put some stuff away. The lady at the window mistook my reason for the visit "has something stuck up his nose" to "he has a stick up his nose" so the nurse and doctor were pretty excited until they realized it was just another kid with something up his nose. The doctor had me lay Jax down on the table and hold him down while he dug out the something out of his nose. It took a couple tries but it finally came out. It was a piece Styrofoam about an inch long and an inch in diameter. As I was comforting Jaxon the doctor said "That's the biggest thing I've ever pulled from a two-year-old's nose," and scooped it up and walked out before I could even say I wanted a picture of it. It was the fastest ER visit I've ever had. Jax got some french fries for being a brave boy and Luke and I got pizza for being awesome movers.

And it Came to Pass
Yesterday I told Jax it was time to read scriptures so he grabbed my phone, opened the app right up, and said, "It came to pass.., " which were of course the first words of the verse. Luke and I were dying. It was so cute. All this time I thought he wasn't paying attention. Now I at least know we have his attention for the first sentence. :)
