Trick-or-Treat

We had a lot of fun this Halloween season. There were many parties and family time. We had pumpkin pizza and lots of candy.
The pumpkins got carved a little late but we did it. The boys thought is was pretty cool but they both refused to touch the guts. Since our costume theme this year was Star Wars that what our pumpkin theme was too. Once the candles went in and the lights went out, Jax and Ryker thought they were the best things ever. Star Wars pumpkins for the win!

Our local college had a family fun night Halloween party. It was a little small, but the boys still had a great time. Especially after they won cupcakes at the cake walk. The best part were the balloons we snagged on our way out the door. Ryker was pretty devastated when they popped a few days later.

I got to help out in Jax's classroom for his very first school party. They sang songs, played games, and got some treats. It's so fun to watch him becoming a big boy.
Normally our church has a annual Halloween party but decided to forgo it this year, so Luke and I decided to thrown one instead! We had chili and cornbread for dinner, some games, and ended the night with a trunk-or-treat. Jaxon found a girl dressed as Rey and they fought lightsabers the entire night. There was a great turnout and we had a great night.
Mummy cupcakes for the Pinterest win!

Jaxon wanted to dress up like Kylo Ren for actual Halloween so he could match Luke. They made a pretty cute pair.
This is the first year that we have gone out trick-or-treating. Jax was pretty excited to start out. As soon as we got to the first house and he got his first couple of candies he was ready to go home and eat. Ryker wasn't very sure about trick-or-treating until he got his first candy and then was ready to go all night. He thought is was the best thing ever! We didn't go too long then went home to pass out candy. The boys thought that was just as fun as the trick-or-treating. Ryker kept trying to take candy out of the bags when he dropped candy in.

Halloween Fun

We have been having some Halloween fun. I made some candy corn that Ryker likes to wear as a unicorn horn. We went to a cornmaze with some friends. The boys had a great time running/riding with friends. After we went to Dairy Queen to get some ice cream. All the kids were running around. I'm pretty sure the employees were happy to see us go.
The library story time had a Halloween party. There were Halloween stories and music, games, a pumpkin craft, and cookies. Jax was so proud of his "cute little pumpkin". Ryker loved the bean bags and wanted to hold all of them at once. We picked out some pumpkins at the store today and we are excited for the weekend to carve them.

Yard Work/Leaves

We have been working hard to make our new house our own. Last year we were remodeling the kitchen/living room and the outside got a little neglected. So this summer and fall we have painted our trim, got rid of some ugly bushes and dead trees, and planted new trees and flowers. Our last big project was to make a new path from our mailbox to the driveway. The last one was just packed down dirt and rocks and got tons of weeds. We put cement pavers down and seeded the dirt so hopefully we will have new grass around the path and our newly shaped flower beds. Fingers crossed this will make it tons easier to mow next year. It looks great! Luke found a little salamander friend digging in the dirt. Ryker tried to pick it up and squish it with love. Jax was a little more wary. He couldn't decide if it was cool or scary.

Stormtrooper Jax wasn't happy the paparazzi was taking his picture.
After finishing up the walk we got to work getting the yard ready for fall. I cut got rid of all the dead flowers and weeds in the alley while Luke and the boys raked leaves in the back yard. It was too much fun! The boys thought it was the best thing ever to jump into the leaves.

Burying Dad one leaf at a time.
