Halloween Fun

We have been having some Halloween fun. I made some candy corn that Ryker likes to wear as a unicorn horn. We went to a cornmaze with some friends. The boys had a great time running/riding with friends. After we went to Dairy Queen to get some ice cream. All the kids were running around. I'm pretty sure the employees were happy to see us go.
The library story time had a Halloween party. There were Halloween stories and music, games, a pumpkin craft, and cookies. Jax was so proud of his "cute little pumpkin". Ryker loved the bean bags and wanted to hold all of them at once. We picked out some pumpkins at the store today and we are excited for the weekend to carve them.

Yard Work/Leaves

We have been working hard to make our new house our own. Last year we were remodeling the kitchen/living room and the outside got a little neglected. So this summer and fall we have painted our trim, got rid of some ugly bushes and dead trees, and planted new trees and flowers. Our last big project was to make a new path from our mailbox to the driveway. The last one was just packed down dirt and rocks and got tons of weeds. We put cement pavers down and seeded the dirt so hopefully we will have new grass around the path and our newly shaped flower beds. Fingers crossed this will make it tons easier to mow next year. It looks great! Luke found a little salamander friend digging in the dirt. Ryker tried to pick it up and squish it with love. Jax was a little more wary. He couldn't decide if it was cool or scary.

Stormtrooper Jax wasn't happy the paparazzi was taking his picture.
After finishing up the walk we got to work getting the yard ready for fall. I cut got rid of all the dead flowers and weeds in the alley while Luke and the boys raked leaves in the back yard. It was too much fun! The boys thought it was the best thing ever to jump into the leaves.

Burying Dad one leaf at a time.

Zoo/Cornmaze

Luke had a few days of vacation time he had to use or lose so we took a little mini vacation to Utah and Idaho. In Utah after a doctors appointment we went to the zoo. Jaxon fell asleep right as we got there and it was only open for one more hour but Grandma really wanted to take the boys so we went. The weather was nice and cool and there was hardly anybody there so we actually had a lot of fun for our one hour. The lions were up and moving around, the elephants were playing, and the gorilla stared us down. Jaxon slept the whole time but Ryker loved it. His favorite were the bears and "kitties".

We almost walked right past the tiger. We were looking at something else and getting ready to go under a bridge. Ryker kept saying "Kitty! Rawr!" and pointed up. We backed up and sure enough there was the kitty peeking down at us.

Jax super thrilled he was woken up.

As we were leaving the zoo getting ready to head to Idaho we saw a food truck festival. Ever since seeing the Great Food Truck Race this has been on my bucket list. We got rained on and our waffles took FOREVER but other than that we had fun. My favorite was the mini scones. Yum!

My parents have a pretty fun pumpkin patch near their house. The boys had a great time with the petting zoo, corn pit, slide, and straw maze. It was fun to visit family and have Luke there to play with us for a few days.
