Newsies

After girls weekend the boys and I stayed in Idaho for a week to play. Of course we had to hit up Target for some shopping. Every morning the boys and I headed to the park to play on the toys and at the splash pad. Ryker didn't love the water and Jax really only liked to shoot the water gun but they loved the park. Saturday we headed down to Utah to go to Newsies. We met Ashley, Brett, Lindsey, and Eric for some dinner at Olive Garden before heading to the show. Uncle Eric watched the boys for me. The show was super fun. I loved all the dancing :) We made home in time for church and are happy to be home with Luke!

Girls Weekend

Last weekend I had a girls weekend with some of my old roommates from BUY-I in Rexburg. We passed this guy coming down from Togwotee Pass. Usually we never see a bear unless Luke is with us so it was pretty cool.
There was a lot of eating. Our first stop was to Pizza Pie Cafe for lunch, then we headed to the house to get all settled in. For dinner we went to Fongs. It was Chinese restaurant and it sat better on the stomach ten years ago than it did now. After that we decided to skip the nostalgia restaurants.
This was the view from our back yard.

We spent an afternoon walking around campus in our matching reunion t-shirts. It has changed a lot! Nothing like walking around a college campus to make you feel old.
We stopped by our old apartment for a picture. There was a girl asleep on the couch while we did this. It was a fun weekend with the girls.
This was my first time away from Ryker so I had my mom send me pictures of the boys a couple times a day. They had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa. Time for Luke and I to plan that cruise ;)

Waffle Wednesday

Cooking is not one of my favorite things in life, mostly because of all the dishes. I put Luke in charge of dinner twice a week and he has instigated Waffle Wednesday. It has turned into one of Jax's favorite things. He loves to to help stir all the ingredients and pour out the waffles. One day Luke added food coloring to the oil as an experiment and now our waffles have to be a different color each time that Jax gets to the choose.

Steamboat Springs

Luke called me the Friday of Memorial Day weekend and asked me if I wanted to go to Steamboat Springs with Zach and Jayme for a few days. I had been wanting to get out of town but Ryker had been puking a lot so I was hesitant... The first day was not that great. While we waited for the room to be ready we jumped in the outdoor pool. The next day was much better. The kids were having a great time playing together. We went to Strawberry Hot Springs in the morning then had some pizza for lunch. We decided that the kids would be OK if we skipped naps and went for a hike up to a waterfall. Jax and James zoomed around on their strider bikes while we hiked. Turns out skipping the naps was a mistake and there were some meltdowns but most of the day was a success. Zach and Jayme left pretty early Monday morning but we stuck around and went for a bike ride with the kids in a bike trailer. It was a nice easy trail along a river and a perfect end to our impromptu vacation.

Summertime

We are loving summertime! Most of the day we play outside, jump on the trampoline, go for walks, ride bikes, and go to the park. I love watching the boys explore and play together.

Bobba Fett Rocket

Wondering through Walmart I came across a little Star Wars rocket that was on sale. I thought it would be fun for Jax and I was right. He loved it! We played for hours and he wore himself (and us) right out.

Ward 5K

The youth this year are going on a pioneer trek so to help them get into shape the leaders organized a Ward 5K. I have been trying to exercise more and this was a good opportunity to get up and move. Luke was good at pushing me to keep running (slow jogging) and we won the prize for the first family to cross the finish line. They gave away awards and we went home with some icy hot. Jax was so excited by his "present".

Sweet Pea

The landscaping at our new house was not very exciting. We ripped out some bushes and planted some flowers. There were several trips made to the nursery and Jax loved it. There is a little pond with some goldfish and several parrots. Jax is in love with the green one named Sweet Pea. He loves it and is also a little afraid of it. Everyday he asks when we are going to go see the fish and the bird :)

Party in Pocatello

Luke's Dad went to visit Jesse in Pocatello so we decided to go and play for the weekend. Jaxon had a great time playing with his cousin Leah. He found a pair of ski boots somewhere and wore them the whole weekend. Luke helped with some yard work one day while the kids and I played. Luke, Jesse, and Philip all got drones for their birthdays and had to play with them when they all got together. It was Jesse's birthday so we went out to dinner. That Saturday we went to Leah's dance recital. She did a great job. Sunday, Luke's cousin Amie blessed her baby so we stuck around so he could see some of his cousins. It was a busy weekend filled with a lot of family.
