Colorado

This weekend we went to visit Zach and Jayme in Colorado. We ended up staying longer than planned because Luke thought sitting on the couch doing nothing was more exciting at their house than at ours. I think we might have driven them a little crazy adding a rambunctious boy to the mix but we had lots of fun and we LOVE their cute kiddos. The kids had lots of fun playing in the yard.
We went to Zach and Jayme's ward party. It was a pretty big deal. They had games, a bounce house, and lots of food. Jax saw the bounce house, headed right to it, and didn't leave it but to eat. We stopped on the way home at the Buffalo Bill gravesite and museum.

I love this picture! Cowboy Jax and his six shooters.
Jayme started the water for the bath, went to grab her kids to put them in, and found Jax sitting in the tub fully clothed. Little stinker! So it turned into group bath time. I love James' cheese face.
We went to the zoo to get out of the house. So fun to see the animals. I think the grown ups might have had more fun than the kids.

We walked up to the hippo right at feeding time. My what big teeth you have!

We had a great time visiting family and we are so excited Zach and Jayme moved down from Alaska!

18 Months!

Our sweet little man is 18 months! I can't believe how fast this time has flown by and how much he has grown. He loves to play hide-and-seek, throw toys for Baxter to fetch, whack his ball off the tee as he says "whack it." He will now put legos or stack blocks together but still mostly loves to knock them down. He is a little parrot and likes to repeat what we say. He could spend all day jumping on a trampoline. He loves to take us by the finger and lead us places (mostly outside). He now can ride the bike we got him for his birthday. He loves to point out "tweets" (birds) and airplanes. He is full of fun energy. Every day I am amazed by this little person we are lucky enough to have in our lives. We love him so much!

Fair

Jax and I visited my parents over Labor Day weekend while Luke was at a mountain biking festival (more on that story below). The county fair was going on so we took Jax out to see the animals. My favorite part of the fair is the food. I got a foot long corn dog and an elephant ear which is a giant scone covered in cinnamon and sugar. Its my favorite and they don't make it anywhere else. Jax and Grandma enjoyed some peaches and ice cream.
In the agricultural building they had a kiddie pool filled with corn, grains, and beans. It was Jax's favorite. He kept laying in it and trying to swim.
Jax wasn't sure how he felt about being a fat farmer and wasn't sure why he was an ear of corn.

 Petting the piggies with Grandpa.
 Feeding the goats with Grandma.

I really wanted to take this baby goat home to be friends with Baxter. It was so cute!

 Pat the bunny.
This was right before the turkey charged us and made Jax jump.
My parents offered to pay for Jax to ride this little train. I was hesitant because its sometimes hard to tell if he is enjoying himself when he tries new things. His face is usually passive and he gets ready to move on quickly. The car had a seat belt and a steering wheel so I thought we might be OK. He LOVED it! He had a huge grin on his face and was happy squealing the whole time. Everybody that walked by said he was so cute.

Now Luke's story. There is a mountain bike festival at the Targhee ski resort in Idaho that he went to last year and had a good time so this year he convinced his dad and brother to go. They both ended up having to cancel on him so he was up there by himself. The second day he took a pretty good spill. He landed a jump wrong and went over the handlebars and landed on his head. He got some pretty good scrapes, five staples in his head, and a week off of work to let some back pain heal up. We are glad he made it home to us safely!
